Run to the House, Part 2
Run to the House, Part 2
“Who are these guys?”
(Please accept my apology, dear readers, for my abrupt absence. I was tending to family matters and vacationing in the beautiful state of Arkansas, which is clearly a joke if you’ve ever been there. Arkansas is sort of like a third world country with Americans running the show. It’s like any other southern state only it has a much more natural and much more prehistoric feel to it. There is no reason why high school students in any state should have to share books, but that’s just my point of view. But for such a small and green state it does have a lot of historical value to it, so I can’t completely bash the place.)
First of all, hello dear readers! I hope you have all been well or at least well informed. Because it seems like the vast majority of America has been sleeping in a hole and has no idea of who are all of our candidates for the presidency are (I’ve just found out that Barack Obama is a terrorist in Arkansas). During my trip to Arkansas, which was taken on Greyhound, I was able to speak with many different individuals, mainly the common working class, who were very receptive to my interviewing tactics during our many hours on the bus and from state to state, I realized one thing, many people ask the same question: just who are these guys?
It seems that we are all caught up in the hype of Hillary Clinton and Giuliani…… and Obama…. Mitt Romney…..but what about guys like Mike Gravel, Chris Dodd, or Mike Huckabee, and if you say to yourself “who” as you read off these names, then you have the same exact sentiment as at least 70% of the United States when it comes to these politicians. In regards to Huckabee, I had no knowledge of him until my recent “vacation” to the “Natural State” (they call Arkansas that because it is grossly undeveloped). But not to get off subject, is there really a reason to listen to any other Democratic candidate? We obviously have the two best for the position, and only one of them can win. But who are the Republicans? Why don’t we hear more about them? Have they already conceded the White House?
We have a certain, very liberal, Republican named Mitt Romney. He seems to have an agenda very close to the Democratic candidates’, who are the front runners of this election season (and we all know who they are). This is making each one of the Republicans look like they are beginning to take the ideas of the frontrunners and running with them because they seem more popular. Funny how universal health care has become a major topic among all candidates when just last election it was just an afterthought on the backburner. Or maybe the public has just decided that they have no interest in what the Republican Party has to say after eight years of blundering, conspiracy, lies, and just plain buffoonery.
So without further ado, I preset to all of you… THE LIST
The Democrats
Joe Biden (no chance)
Hillary Clinton (Cold-Steel)
Chris Dodd (Chris Dud)
John Edwards (Southern Comfort)
Mike Gravel (Mike… who?)
Dennis Kuchnich (Mr. Nip Tuck)
Barack Obama (Soul Brotha)
Bill Richardson (He’s a Bill But No Clinton)
The Republicans
Rudy Giuliani (Don Giuliani)
Mike Huckabee (C’mon, he’s a Huckabee)
Duncan Hunter (Duncan Hines- so soft)
John McCain (Senator McPain)
Ron Paul (two first names… hummmm?)
Mitt Romney (Playas Ball)
Tom Tancredo (who?)
Fred Thompson (Mr. Foot in his mouth)
Now, there is no reason to think that none or one of these politicians (not ‘guys’ but ‘politicians’ because finally we have a woman running) can’t win this race. But I am willing to guess that Tom Tancredo or Duncan Hunter won’t! Listen, we don’t know these gentlemen but we do have to listen to their views (especially in debate). While that is taking place, look hard at our front runners, see if they cower under the pressure or do they handle themselves with a cool resolve. Watch and see if our frontrunners exude energy, confidence, and overwhelming sense of trust in their own opinions. Do they answer the questions during the debate or do they dance around the topics with candor or jokes. Look at their facial expressions when they are under fire from multiple parties. Do they pause when their enemies are in the room? Are they silent under attack? Because of our actions within the past eight years, the United States has a lot of bridges to rebuild and a lot respect in the international community to regain. Let’s just hope that the two we have chosen for frontrunners are ready and willing to take on that role.
Goodbye until next time… and as always, I will try to do better!
